Channel letters have an internal lighting cavity with LED modules inside, giving them a deeper profile. Dimensional letters are flat-cut or built-up 3D letters without an internal lighting cavity — they have a thinner profile and offer more material options like acrylic, brushed metal, foam, and cast bronze. Dimensional letters can still be illuminated with external lighting such as gooseneck lamps or LED spotlights.
Can dimensional letters be used outdoors?
Yes — dimensional letters work beautifully both indoors and outdoors. For exterior applications, we use weather-resistant materials like aluminum, stainless steel, brass, bronze, and PVC foam. Indoor applications offer even more options including acrylic and HDU foam.
